The Candlewick Service Case
A downloadable murder mystery kit
Turn your Halloween get-together into a murder mystery
A downloadable mystery kit for 4-6 adults. Everyone investigates, including the organizer.
A death at Candlewick. Conflicting accounts. A receipt that doesn't tell the whole story. Compare the evidence across three rounds, challenge each other's theories and decide who could have committed the crime.
No acting or meal required. Play with printed records, a shared desktop screen, or both.
Your complete case
- 10 case records in three rounds, with verdict pages.
- A4 and US Letter PDFs, a shared offline reader and a spoiler-free organizer guide.
- Three progressive hints per round and the complete solution and ending.
Halloween and evergreen looks are both included for the same mystery, with the same clues and answer. Choose one for your group.
Before everyone arrives
This is an English digital download; nothing ships. Extract your chosen ZIP and follow its start guide. The organizer can prepare without reading the answer.
Printing is optional. Full paper play uses 15 single-sided player sheets for 4 adults, 16 for 5, or 17 for 6, in A4 or US Letter. These totals exclude optional organizer, hint and solution printing. Print single-sided at actual size. Ordinary paper and pencils are enough.
Adult themes: non-graphic homicide and financial disagreement.
Your download and personal hosting
Base price: USD17, plus applicable tax shown at checkout. Both ZIPs are included.
Keep and print the files for repeated private, noncommercial events you host, with cohosts helping at the event. You may host as a gift. Recipient accounts, independent redistribution and resale are not included. Do not publicly post the files or answers. Replaying does not create a new case.
There is no additional voluntary change-of-mind refund window. Mandatory rights for missing, corrupt or faulty content remain. Full recovery and remedies information follows.
Find a mystery for your group
- The Guest Behind Door 314: Exactly 2 adult investigators. A cooperative hotel murder mystery with no acting; printing optional.
- The Alder House Inheritance: Exactly 6 adult characters. Private printed role packets required; the organizer can play one of the six.

Support, file recovery and refund rights
Purchased-file recovery: email your order reference from the purchasing email address. Requests received through the end of the ninetieth calendar day after the original receipt's purchase date remain eligible while we process them. We check the purchase and send the exact purchased ZIP to the verified purchasing address. Ambiguous purchase dates are resolved in your favour. A partial price adjustment retains seller-assisted recovery. A completed full refund ends voluntary recovery; downloaded files remain usable. Keep the original receipt privately.
Required remedies: contact support if delivery is missing, corrupt or materially faulty. We will assess the problem and provide a working matching copy or the remedy required by applicable law. The ninety-day recovery period and provider processing windows do not limit mandatory rights, including Australian consumer guarantees. There is no additional voluntary change-of-mind refund window. Immediate digital delivery does not remove rights for faulty content. Where a withdrawal right applies, any legally required express request and acknowledgment must be presented in checkout before delivery; these terms alone are not a withdrawal waiver.
Support: email ThePanicDevelopment@gmail.com. We aim to reply within two Polish business days, excluding weekends and Polish public holidays. This is a response target, not immediate resolution or event-time rescue. Include the edition and a brief problem description; for purchased-file recovery include only your order reference from your purchasing address. Do not send receipt links, licence keys, passwords, card details or children's information.
Privacy and seller details
Play asks for no names, contact details or children's information and has no advertising or behavioral tracking. Notes and released rounds stay in local browser storage when available; export a pause file before closing to preserve them. Exported files remain under your control.
itch.io and its payment providers handle purchase, receipt, file-access, payment, tax, fraud and dispute data under their own policies. Seller support uses your purchasing email and order reference to verify the purchase and recover its exact ZIP. Ordinary correspondence is retained for six months after resolution, except necessary legal/dispute records. Use the support email for privacy questions or requests.
